Sunshine Coast Airport (MCY) at Marcoola is the closest airport to Australia Zoo, about 45 km and roughly 45 minutes by road. Brisbane Airport (BNE) is about 80 km away, a little over an hour. We collect from both and take you straight to the zoo gate.
Australia Zoo is on Steve Irwin Way at Beerwah, in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. You can drive, take the train to Beerwah station and connect with the zoo’s courtesy coach, or book a private door-to-door transfer. With SkyDrive your driver collects you from your accommodation, drops you at the entrance and returns for you at the time you choose.
From Caloundra it is about 25 km (25 minutes). From Mooloolaba about 35 km (35 minutes). From Maroochydore about 42 km (40 minutes). From Noosa about 70 km (1 hr 5 min). Times are for a direct private run and vary with traffic.
Australia Zoo runs a complimentary courtesy coach between Beerwah train station and the zoo, which meets most trains. The current timetable is in the zoo’s own transport guide. If you would rather skip the train and the connection, SkyDrive is a private alternative: your own vehicle, door to door, at the times that suit your day.
